Account Manager, Scientific Publishing Sales

Account Manager, Scientific Publishing Sales, upto £35K Basic, £40-£46K OTE, London. Working for a major publisher of scientific journals this is a really unusual sales led role where you will be tasked with gaining the funds to enable the publishing of high quality unbiased articles on a wide range of scientific issues. This is an ideal role for an enthusiastic and committed sales professional with publishing sales experience and a scientific interest or academic background. The role is a highly consultative and conceptual sale that will aid long term PR for the sponsor of the journals. To apply you must have experience of publishing sales and a real enthusiasm for science. You will be a self managing, self starting sales professional that can work with diligence and commitment to meet targets with little supervision.

Target clients are industrial clients, biotech and medical device manufacturers, research organisations, funding bodies, charities, institutions, International and National Government Departments and International organisations committed to the expansion of human knowledge.
Typically targeting very senior personal this is a highly ethical sale that is challenging and offers great career acceleration based upon your success as the organisation's business model is changing as greater revenue is sourced through funding and sponsorship rather than advertising to ensure their status as the leading apolitical and unbiased publisher of free scientific journals.

To apply you must have outstanding communication and relationship building skills, commercial flair and a good general understanding of science and scientific terminology. A life science degree or some scientific research experience is ideally required together with publishing sales experience and a highly consultative and ethical approach.
