Equipped with 12 thrusters, the device is capable of sending the user up to 1.5 metres into the air - with the added bonus of being able to land again safely.

Costing a small £150 sum, the Flybar is also adjustable to the users weight and height as well.

This new gadget is also certain to keep the user on the edge of extreme, having been designed by extreme sports luminary Andy MacDonald.

But after trying out his new device, professional skateboarder Andy was surprised to find that the Flybar had a few tricks up its sleeve even for him.

He told the Metro: "'The pogo stick was particularly fascinating because, like a skateboard, you could do tricks.

"For years, I searched for a stick that would stand up to the test."

Unconvinced extreme sports consumers need only visit YouTube to see how versatile the new Flybar is.
