Finance employees cut out lunch break
Sales jobs employees in the City are cutting out their lunch break to help cope with workload stresses, a recent survey has suggested.
According to a survey by financial services recruiter Morgan McKinley, 24 per cent of employees claim that they take a lunch break of 15 minutes or less on an ordinary day.
Julie-Anne Page, associate director of the Secretarial Support Division at Morgan McKinley indicated that employers need to do more to "redress the balance".
She said: "We need to look at areas such as time management, so that individuals make the most efficient use of their time in the workplace."
Some 68 per cent claimed that they work through their lunch break when they have too much work to do, while 20 per cent claim they miss their lunch break so they don't have to stay late.
