Services firms experience jobs growth in 2008
Those in sales jobs in the professional services industries enjoyed business growth over the last three months, according to the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).
But according to the to the latest CBI Services Sector Survey growth rates are far below 2007 levels.
Meanwhile, recruitment for sales jobs and other positions in the legal, accountancy and IT sectors reported rises in job numbers.
Leaders in professional and financial services firms are also confident this growth will continue into the next quarter of 2008, which will be good news for those keen on securing professional services roles.
However the CBI's chief economic adviser, Ian McCafferty, warned that the credit crunch is still likely felt in certain sectors.
He said: "Professionals offering services such as accountancy, property and law have seen their profits flatten off as costs continue to grow strongly."
Firms echo this concern, reporting that financial pressures are likely to impact on investment over the coming year.
