Could sales jobs in London soon pay more?
People with sales jobs in London may be among those set to benefit from an increase in wages.
Mayor of the capital Boris Johnson recently announced he is keeping an election promise by raising the living wage for London to £7.45 per hour.
The new figure, which is 35 per cent higher than the national minimum wage set by government, is designed to help employees in the city cope with rising living costs.
Reportedly, 27 organisations have already signed up to the London living wage.
Commenting on his initiative, Mr Johnson said: "This is not only morally right but also makes good business sense contributing to better recruitment and retention of staff, higher productivity and a more loyal workforce with high morale."
A former editor of the Spectator magazine, Mr Johnson was elected as London mayor on May 4th of this year.
