Unemployed 'should use' sales recruitment services

Recruitment agencies are essential to succeed in the current "competitive environment" for jobs, an expert claims.

Director of external relations at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation Tom Hadley says feedback from professionals in fields such as sales recruitment suggests companies are still recruiting, Onrec.com reports.

He states those who have recently become unemployed should contact sales recruitment agencies as these people are most likely to know where vacancies are currently available.

"The feedback from recruitment professionals on the front line of the labour market confirms that employers are still recruiting," he tells the news provider.

Recommending the government not to interfere with the jobs market, Mr Hadley implies the field is still unstable, but suggests those concerned secure temporary or interim management work.

He tells the website to expect contacts such as sales recruitment staff to be the most effective way of securing a position in what he describes as a decreasingly "candidate-driven" arena.

Reacting to a survey his company recently conducted, director of KPMG Alan Nolan says recruiters are still seeing demand for "flexible staffing".
