Oxfordshire store creates over 100 sales jobs

A new Marks and Spencer store which opens in Witney later this month will create 118 new sales jobs in the Oxfordshire region.

The 25,300 sq ft store, which contains a clothes section, home ware department, a food hall and a 52-seat restaurant, will open its doors to customers on October 29th at the £40 million Marriott's Walk shopping centre in Welch Way.

Other sales jobs will also be created at the complex, which has mainly been built on the former car park at the site, with 18 other shops and a cinema all set to open.

Store manager Chris Taylor said: "We are delighted to be opening a brand-new store in Witney. The team here are really looking forward to welcoming the customers too and we hope that it will be a big hit with them."

The Marks and Spencer store will also be doing its bit for the environment with solar roof panels providing hot water in the building.

A further 350 sales jobs will also be created by the company at a 150,000 sq ft store at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, after a public enquiry gave them the green light to press ahead with the development.
