Sales jobs to be made in Hartlepool after govt grant

Unemployed people in Hartlepool and sales recruitment experts are being urged to make use of a new project which could create sales jobs in the town.

Over the next 18 months 720 jobs will be introduced after the government's Future Jobs Fund promised a £3.25 million boost for the scheme.

Led by Hartlepool Borough Council in partnership with a number of private, public and voluntary sector employers, the vacancies will be open to people aged 18 to 24 who have been claiming job seekers allowance for up to a year.

Councillor Pamela Hargreaves, Hartlepool's cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: "It is vital for Hartlepool's economic future that we do everything we can to help people onto the jobs ladder - particularly our young people - and to support firms which want to expand their workforce."

Recently, a number of sales jobs were created in Leicestershire as part of the Future Jobs Fund, with over 1,000 being made in total across all sectors in the county.
