Technology advancement 'creating more IT sales jobs'

Technological advancements are leading to more IT sales jobs being created, it has been claimed.

John Gantz, chief research officer and senior vice-president at the technology market research company IDC, said that the continuing advancement of the sector means that more IT sales jobs are needed in emerging fields.

His comments come after a report by the firm showed that Web 2.0 and cloud computing are changing the way that businesses operate, as those looking to expand are pursuing these opportunities and creating IT sales jobs in the process.

"Given the sea changes in both the global economy and the IT landscape, returning to 'business as usual' will be a poor strategic choice for technology buyers and suppliers alike," Mr Gantz said.

Last year, Dr Alan Bourne, director of analyst Talent Q, said that the IT sector has some of the hottest graduate sales vacancies, as firms in the industry are offering university leavers excellent opportunities for career development.ADNFCR-1617-ID-19616247-ADNFCR
