Finance leaders look to hire as confidence rises

A rise in confidence levels of financial officers could herald a recruitment boom in the financial sector, according to new research.

The latest Robert Half Chief Financial Officer's Confidence Index showed that nearly 47 per cent are more confident about the economic prospects facing their companies in the next six months.

This has changed significantly from last year, when 84 per cent of finance leaders were pessimistic in their outlook.

Furthermore, this rise in confidence could boost sales jobs in the industry, with 17 per cent of the UK's chief financial officers stating that they will be looking to hire permanent staff over the next six months.

Officers in London were the most optimistic, with nearly a third stating that they would resume hiring in the coming six months as workloads and business growth drive the need for staff.

This research backed up recent comments by recruitment firm Michael Page, which predicted that the number of financial jobs available is set to "significantly improve".

As a recruitment provider to many of the UK’s major banks, mortgage lenders and building societies Aaron Wallis have a deserved reputation within Financial Services recruitment. Their dedicated FS consultants recruit sales professionals across Retail Banking and Financial Services including IFA’s and Mortgage Broking.
