Tesco 'breathes new life into electronic sales'

One of the UK's largest supermarket chains is about to embark on an ambitious new plan, which will see it double its electronic sales staff, according to one newspaper.

The Guardian reported that Tesco proposes to hire people for 1,000 new sales jobs in its 'tech team'.

But some analysts do not believe that the new electronic teams will help the supermarket to compete with the more established competitors in the marketplace.

Bryan Roberts, retail analyst at Planet Retail, told the newspaper: "The new Currys' megastores are brilliant and Best Buy's stores are awesome ... I don't think a supermarket can compete with that, even with extra staff, because they don't have the depth of range."

The new electronic sales staff might have a better chance of selling products to customers after Joshua Bamfield, director of the Centre for Retail Research, said he thinks consumer confidence is returning to the country's high streets.

Aaron Wallis is a UK based sales recruitment agency with specialist electronic sales recruitment consultants. Its dedicated electronics sales division offers technical sales jobs across electronics, electromechanical and semiconductors.
