iPhone helps create 'staggering' growth figures
The popularity of the iPhone has helped Apple to record "staggering growth rates" in the last quarter, according to the company, which has almost doubled its profits in the space of a year.
People looking for electronics sales jobs will no doubt be impressed by the figures which showed that the company saw its profits rise by 90 per cent after it sold 8.75 million iPhones in the last quarter.
Apple boss Steve Jobs said: "We're thrilled to report our best non-holiday quarter ever, with revenues up 49 per cent and profits up 90 per cent."
Last quarter earnings came in at $3.07 billion (£1.99 billion) for the last quarter, which dwarfed the $1.62 billion taken in the same period last year.
The iPad could see a number of rival products emerge in the tablet market, with the boost to the IT industry potentially creating new sales jobs.
