Ad industry has recovered well in 2010

The worst is over in the world of advertising and 2010 should be a much more positive time for the industry, according to an expert.

Eva Berg-Winters, senior manager and new media specialist at PricewaterhouseCoopers, said that this year will be more positive than the one just gone, with more growth expected.

People entering into new media sales jobs could have an easier time selling advertising this year, but Ms Berg-Winters has warned that the industry is still in recovery.

"2010 is going to be a much better year than 2009, but it has of course started from a much lower base ... I think we have seen the low point now and, while recovery is still very shaky this year, it will be easier than last year," she stated.

A recent Advertising Association and Warc Expenditure Report showed that there had been "modest growth" in the advertising market during the first quarter of 2010, which arrived two quarters earlier than expected.
