Standard Life gets boost from sales figures

One of the UK's biggest long-term savings and investment companies has seen a 30 per cent jump in its sales figures in the first quarter of this year and puts the success down to increased consumer confidence and greater desire for pension products.

Standard Life recorded the impressive rise, which was much better than analysts had predicted, and could offer hope to people searching for sales jobs in the financial services sector.

Jackie Hunt, the firm's finance director, said: "'Since the end of 2009 we have seen people moving out of cash and into equities and fixed income."

The boss added that the company has seen an "uptick in the amount of advice being sought" as consumer confidence returned to the market after the recession.

Positive sales figures for Standard Life were followed by an impressive performance on the stock market with the financial services company's shares finishing up 4 per cent at 201.3p yesterday.

As a recruitment provider to many of the UK's major banks, mortgage lenders and building societies Aaron Wallis have a deserved reputation within financial services recruitment. Their dedicated financial services consultants recruit sales professionals across retail banking and financial services including IFA’s and mortgage broking.
