Financial services wage transparency 'good news for female jobseekers'

A greater level of wage transparency in the City is good news for female jobseekers who are worried about being discriminated against.

Kate Grussing, spokesperson for the City Women's Network and Sapphire Partners co-founder, has claimed that professional women will "welcome" these changes.

She also highlighted the benefits that providing a standardised format of pay across levels and sectors will also be a strong, positive change. Those applying for financial services sales jobs could be among those to benefit from this higher level of transparency.

Despite this, Ms Grussing said that her organisation does not fully support the introduction of quotas for board-level positions in these organisations.

She added: "What we need to focus on is greater transparency of how the board appointments are made so that women are on the shortlist where they deserve to be."

The Confederation of British Industry recently claimed that the number of financial services job opportunities could increase during the next three months.

As a recruitment provider to many of the UK’s major banks, mortgage lenders and building societies Aaron Wallis have a deserved reputation within Financial Services recruitment. Their dedicated FS consultants recruit sales professionals across Retail Banking and Financial Services including IFA’s and Mortgage Broking.
