Insurance sector sees job demand boost in July

There was a rise in the number of jobs available in the insurance sector in July, according to a new industry report, which is sure to boost sales recruitment hopes.

The Reed Job Index shows that employer demand across all sectors fell marginally last month, but certain sectors enjoyed strong growth, with the number of vacancies in the insurance and accounting industries rising substantially.

Martin Warnes, managing director of reed.co.uk, said employers are still a little nervous about how sustainable economic recovery will prove to be.

"At the same time however, some key job sectors bucked the trend, with demand for new staff in these areas rising to their highest level since the index began," he explained.

Last week, research carried out by Morgan McKinley suggested that half of hiring managers in the capital's financial services sector will be upping their recruitment drives in the second half of 2010 as the fallout of the economic downturn begins to dissipate.
